Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte currently serves only the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County areas. Future plans are to expand into surrounding areas, i.e. Gaston, York, Union, Lincoln counties, etc. 

If you work in Mecklenburg County, our BBBS School-Based program may be of interest? Volunteers are matched one-on-one with a child and report to their school weekly. All school-based activities are held ON SITE and include having lunch, reading, playing games, etc.  Our school-based program is excellent for volunteers who reside outside of Mecklenburg County, but work in Charlotte and want to participate in our program.

If you live and work outside our service area (Mecklenburg / Cabarrus County), your local United Way  can provide referrals to other mentoring-type agencies. Your area school system may also be helpful, as there is always a great need for mentors in our schools.
