Special Events Coordinator – [Waterloo, IA]

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa seeks a full-time candidate for the position of Special Events Coordinator. This position has primary responsibility for planning and executing the agency’s direct-line fundraising events in our six-county service area. The Special Events Coordinator will assist the CEO in major gift strategy sessions for past and current donors, helping the agency identify and implement strategic engagement opportunities. Supporting elements for this position include donor stewardship, event marketing and publicity, database management and donor research.


The Special Events Coordinator must have the ability to work from main office (Waterloo, IA) but travel consistently to and from agency satellite offices and community meetings. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred for this position as well as 2-5 years of progressive event planning experience and success. Proven written and verbal communication skills and comfort speaking in front of small and large groups is required. The successful candidate must have a car, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums. Background checks are required.


The starting salary range for this position is $34,000-$38,000 an hour, based on experience. A generous benefits package is also included.
