Big Brother Dave and Little Brother Kevin

"I had a Big Sister when I was growing up, and as a child who went through the BBBS program - I liked it. I decided about six years ago to enroll my son into the program and that is when Dave Hunt II came into Kevin's life. At that time, Kevin was having problems in school and also at home.  

Dave and Kevin developed a very strong relationship. Kevin can talk to Dave about anything and no matter what Dave has going on, he always tries to make time for Kevin, giving support in any way he can. About three years ago, Kevin burned himself badly and was in the University of Michigan Burn Center for nine days, six of which were spent in the ICU Burn Unit. Dave kept in contact with us and Kevin the entire time, offering to help in any way he could. I can’t tell you how much we appreciated his support at that point in time.  

Kevin & Dave have done a lot of things together; putt putt golf is one of Kevin's favorite things to do with Dave. Kevin is involved in swimming and tennis in high school and Dave tries to attend some of Kevin's games. 

Kevin has made a lot of good choices for himself since he has been matched with Dave. They both have busy schedules when school is in session but they talk at work because Kevin works for Dave at Big Boy in St. Johns!  

I greatly appreciate everything Dave and his family have done for Kevin. Dave's entire family took Kevin into their lives. They all have a special place in our hearts and always will. I am very thankful for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program because it has really helped my family and I feel the program has done a lot of for my son.
