Monkey Joe's Holds Pineville Grand Opening
Weekend Proceeds To Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters
(CHARLOTTE, NC) - Monkey business may get a bad rap, but Pineville is about to learn how much fun monkeying around can be with the grand opening of Monkey Joe's at 601 North Polk St. on January 6, 2007. More than just a children's party center, Monkey Joe's is a new, inflatable-filled indoor play center that provides families with affordable activity and entertainment - all day, every day (no special occasion necessary - walk-in any time!) With 12,000 square feet of space where kids can 'go bananas,' Monkey Joe's is more fun than a barrel of … well, you know.
As part of its grand opening celebration, Monkey Joe's will open its doors two days early for all Charlotte-Mecklenburg School PTA and PTO board members to come in at no charge with their children. Saturday, January 6, 2007 Monkey Joe's will host a GRAND OPENING celebration for the public with face painting, free balloons games and a clown. Radio Disney will also be on hand from 11 am -1 pm. In addition, 10% of all proceeds from weekend walk-in sales will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte.
Owners Nick Smith, Michael Torcellini and Alan Sacks are bringing their second Monkey Joe's to the Charlotte area with eight additional locations slated to open over the next few years.
"In a family-oriented city like Pineville, Monkey Joe's is the perfect fit," explains Torcellini. "Parents appreciate that Monkey Joe's offers an affordable place to relax while their kids can be active in a safe, social and fun environment."
Besides offering families a unique recreation and play opportunity, Monkey Joe's also understands the importance of being a good corporate citizen and community neighbor. Raving Brands, Monkey Joe's parent company announced this year a five-year, $2 million commitment to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Along with becoming one of NCMEC's largest corporate donors, Raving Brands is also leveraging its extensive franchisee network to help increase safety and awareness throughout each community served.
Monkey Joe's represents a new era in children's play with a clean, safe and well-lit environment. Safety comes first at Monkey Joe's as it has integrated the Code Adam program into its safety training of all employees. Code Adam is a 6-point procedure for employees to quickly and effectively respond to a missing or lost child on-premise. This simple, turnkey program has been proven successful throughout 55,000 retail outlets nationwide.
"In addition to supporting the NCMEC at a local level, we plan to continue our involvement with the local YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy & Girl Scouts of America and of course, the local school system," explains Torcellini. "We understand the need and importance of getting involved in and supporting our local community, and we make it a top priority."
All Monkey Joe's cater to children ages 2-10 with an array of giant, air-filled play structures, jumps, slides, obstacle courses, and developmental games; a separate toddler area provides age-appropriate play for children who might not be so steady on their feet. Monkey Joe's also features multiple private party rooms and party themes, with on-site party planning and concession items, including pizza, snacks, beverages, and gifts.
While grownups certainly are welcome to bounce, jump and slide along with the younger set, Monkey Joe's also provides an unmatched and long-overdue component for parents: a parent lounge with comfortable seating, big-screen TVs, and two computer stations with FREE high-speed Internet access. In fact, the entire facility is wireless.
