Pinellas County Commissioner Ronnie E. Duncan challenged Clearwater Mayor Frank V. Hibbard and St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker to join him Wednesday in the Official RaysHawk Challenge to show support and pride in the Tampa Bay Rays as they prepare for Game 1 of the World Series.

Mayor Hibbard already agreed to step up to the plate and accept this challenge.

The commissioner is betting this friendly competition will be a home-run hit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pinellas County. Here’s the game plan: Each official will collect donations for Big Brothers Big Sisters through the organization’s website, www.bbbspc.org through a good old-fashioned All-American election.

The official with the most donations wins – and is spared the clippers. The losing official agrees to a RaysHawk. The “final cut” will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Pinellas Technical Education Center’s Clearwater Cosmetology Program facility, 6100 154^th Ave. N., Clearwater. Votes/donations will be accepted until the last minute!

Remember, everyone is invited to participate. Votes will be accepted with a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pinellas County– and may the best RayHawk win!

“We are so proud of our Rays,” said Duncan in discussing his decision to issue this cutting challenge. “They have run through the worst of all cases, and they are in the final hunt! It’s a great day in Pinellas County with the Rays in the hunt!”
