Adam Carolla Wins Charity Race to Benefit Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters

Comedian, actor and former Big Brother Adam Carolla was the winner of the 2012 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race that took place in Long Beach, CA on April 14. Toyota will make a donation in his name to Racing for Kids, a national nonprofit program benefiting children’s hospitals in Long Beach and Orange County, CA, and a $5,000 donation to Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters in Los Angeles.

Entertainer and Big Brothers Big Sisters supporter Adam Carolla has won the 2012 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race. Toyota will make a $5,000 donation in his name to Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles. In this clip from NBC's The Apprentice, Carolla explains his passion for the organization and its mission.

“It’s a really amazing feeling to win,” said Carolla. “I’m also thrilled to benefit the kids at the children’s hospitals – and also the parents who are by their kids’ side around the clock. This win is for the parents!”

Carolla had a slow start, but inevitably took the lead in the fourth lap after a bold move to pass actor Kim Coates. He kept the lead until the final lap, when actor Hill Harper, a fellow Big Brothers Big Sisters supporter, challenged Carolla for the win. After an exciting battle, Carolla emerged the victor.

“All of their enthusiasm is for a great cause,” stated Les Unger, national motorsports manager with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. “The Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race is proud to be able to make it happen.”

In addition to the donation made in Carolla’s name to the title charity partner, Racing for Kids, Toyota will donate $5,000 to Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles. The cause is one close to his heart, as he was previously a Big Brother through the program. Carolla participated in the current season of The Celebrity Apprentice to benefit the organization.
