They have a demonstrated commitment to supporting them and helping them to continue carrying out their mission: delivering one-to-one mentoring of at risk children and young people throughout southern Minnesota.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota, in conjunction with two other local agencies, serve 5,000 children, with several hundred more still on waiting lists.
Last week, Federated Insurance presented Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota Greg Zweber with a check for $400,000 — funds raised from the Federated Challenge.
The Federated Challenge is a two-day event hosted by Federated Insurance and sponsored by Wells Fargo. Each year, a number of partners and sponsors organize and host a gala and auction, followed by a golf tournament, to raise money for donation. Funds raised from the event go toward supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in Minnesota.
Three main agencies across Minnesota serve approximately 5,000 at-risk children and young people, so donations of this magnitude help to allow amazing things to happen for the agencies and the children they serve. Federated Insurance appreciates the opportunity to help provide funds that will better allow Big Brothers Big Sisters to create meaningful matches in southern Minnesota.
