Past Activities

Big Brothers Big Sisters Whirlyball event a BIG success

Nineteen matches and six BBBS staff enjoyed a Saturday night playing Whirlyball at Whirlyball/Laser-Sport in Bedford Heights. Bigs and Littles maneuvered - some more successfully than others - a WhirlyBug bumper car while throwing, catching and shooting a whiffle ball from one end of the court to the other. The object is to hit a 15-inch target suspended 10 feet above the floor. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed pizza, soda, Whirlyball, Laser Tag and video games. Match activities are a great way for Bigs to connect and share their experiences with each other and for Littles to meet other Littles. Thank you to the members of the Bigs Council and Monique Wingard for planning the Whirlyball event and making it a success. Planning events and promoting the BBBS mission are major components of The Bigs Council. If you would like to get involved in the Bigs Council contact Corrie Taylor at corrie.taylor@bbbs.org. View event images

Fun at the Polar Blast

"Ashley and I both had a blast- tubing. It was so much fun and it wasn,t really that cold at all. We went up the hill and down the hill and back up again. We particularly enjoyed the big huge blob of tubes that all went down at the same time. As we left, she kept remarking about how nice everyone was, both the other tubers and the staff. There was no pushing or cutting in front of the line, except the great staff who not only pushed us down the hill but SPUN us like crazy. I was impressed too, I would have expected kids working that age to have attitudes but they didn't. Everyone was friendly and cheerful. Huge thumbs up to the staff. Very fun, beautiful weather and company, and the price was just right for us (free), we were glad to get the tickets." Big Sister Emily.
