Site-Based Mentoring Intern

 

Reports To: Director of Site Based Mentoring and Research

 

Position Vision: To position Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland as the premier mentoring program for children by creating site-based projects that exceed the goals of all participants.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating the enrollment and matching of volunteers and clients in a site-based program; including conducting interviews, reference checks, background checks and other duties.
  • Work with volunteer partners (corporate, college and high school), as well as with school principals and teachers to recruit mentors and clients.
  • Provide support for matches by assisting in building relationships, leading group activities and making individual contact with each match.
  • Create and implement programming for each site in collaboration with Site Based Coordinator.
  • Document and monitor all elements of match support and supervision and provide timely and comprehensive written summaries of all contacts.
  • Conduct evaluations of programs; utilizing outcome evaluation to assess match impact on youth development.
  • Will be responsible for coordinating 1-2 programs with a maximum caseload of 30 matches

 

Position Requirements:

  • Must have high level of organization
  • Must be willing and able to work with diverse populations
  • Must have car, valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Available 10-20 hours per week
