Second Annual BIG-Little Plane Pull
Saturday September 13th, 9:00am – 2:00pm

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Second Annual Plane Pull is coming up Saturday, September 13th from 9:00am until 2:00pm!  At this fundraising event teams of twenty people will pull a Northern Air Cargo 737 twelve feet at the FedEx Hanger (5800 Lockheed Avenue).

This event is not only fun but also raises funds to help us match more kids, which changes lives and changes communities.  The team registration minimum is $1500 per team, which is equivalent to the cost of supporting one of our one-to-one mentoring relationships between an adult and a child - for one year.

We are still actively looking for more teams to compete, so get together a group of coworkers or friends - or call us about connecting you with other people interested in forming a team – and join us in Pulling Together for Alaska’s Kids!

If you are interested in participating or would like more information about the Plane Pull contact Liz Army liz.army@bbbs.org, 907-263-2064

  Anchorage Dream Big Breakfast
Wednesday November 12, 2008

Big Brothers Big Sisters Dream Big Fundraising Breakfast is a one-hour event that tells our story to new and old friends alike. You will hear moving testimonials from some of the children and families Big Brothers Big Sisters serves and learn, first hand, how Big Brothers Big Sisters works to fulfill our mission: to help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships. There is no cost to attend and no minimum contribution required. As much as anything we want you to come, be inspired, and learn more about our work.

Join us for one of our two scheduled "Table Host Kickoff" events on August 28th or September 30th. Both are 5:30-6:30 at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office. It's a great opportunity to meet other table hosts, brainstorm ideas together and hear from past table hosts what their experience has been. Please RSVP to Amy at 907-263-2025.

Our goal for 2008 is to have 36 Table Hosts, which will mean having more than 300 people at the event. We invite you to join us this year. Be a Table Host and a champion for the youth in our community!

Have questions???

(What is a Table Host? Why should I be a Table Host? What if I can’t fill a table? What is the suggested process of organizing a table?)

Find answers on the Donating Page.

A Big thanks to Hill Norvell, the Captain of the “One Day” of Seward. (www.fishwithhill.com) Captain Norvell donated two all day fishing trips where 18 Bigs and Littles from Anchorage and Seward caught black sea bass, halibut and starfish.
