Executive Director
|
Crites has been a resident of Midland for more than 30 years and has been involved with area nonprofit organizations for more than a decade. Prior to accepting the position of executive director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midland, Crites worked as the marketing and development officer for the Ellen Noël Art Museum in Odessa. Prior to that, she was employed for nine years as director of publications and director of public relations for the Commemorative Air Force. She is a member of the board of directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and serves on the marketing committee for Bynum School. Crites also writes a regular column about local nonprofits for the Midland Reporter-Telegram.
“We are so proud to have someone with Kay’s in-depth knowledge and abilities in the nonprofit arena,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters Board President Irene Garcia. “Her qualifications will guide our organization to new levels of success as we serve the children of Midland. Kay’s familiarity with our community will add value to what has been already accomplished and is currently in motion. Undoubtedly, we will see a fresh approach to the delivery of service from Big Brothers Big Sisters.”
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead such an outstanding organization,” Crites said. “Big Brothers Big Sisters, through its program of one-on-one mentoring for children, has such a positive impact on our children and on our community. The chance to be a part of this is almost too good to be true. I’d pinch myself to see if I’m dreaming, but I’m afraid I might wake up.”
