Trudy's Bowl for Kids' Sake: It's Time to Rock 'n Bowl!

Trudy's Bowl for Kids' Sake, benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas is the agency's largest annual fundraiser, raising thousands of dollars to support the children, volunteers and families in our program. These funds enable us to provide nearly 74,000 hours of mentoring each year! That is 74,000 hours of encouragement and listening; 74,000 hours of one-to-one support and friendship; and 74,000 hours of goal setting and guidance to stay on the right track to achieve those goals. There is no better investment than an investment in a child's future.

There is still time to donate to support the event. Make a donation to support Bowl for Kids' Sake by clicking here.

Austin attorney Ben De Leon and his Little Brother Anthony took part in a White House ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 20, in the East Room to mark National Mentoring Month. The celebration came as the nation's largest donor-supported network of volunteer mentors of youth issued a call for Americans to support its effort to match thousands of children, especially African-American and Hispanic boys, who are waiting to be matched with mentors.

Big Brother Coordinates Toy Drive; Collects 200 Toys for BBBS Holiday Party

Big Brother Nate Matatall and Dell's Consumer S&P Group recently held a toy drive where they collected more than 200 toys for BBBS' annual holiday party, held at County Line on the Hill. For more than 20 years, the restaurant has closed their doors to the public for the one afternoon and opened their hearts to create holiday magic for more than 300 Little Brothers and Sisters in the Central Texas program. Through the generosity the Jack in the Box Foundation and individual donors who hosted toy drives, each child in attendance will receive a gift. Another highlight of the event will be a raffle featuring several new bicycles and helmets donated by the County Line and Cannoli Joe’s. They will also be donating lunch for everyone attending the party.
