Indianapolis Colts' Coach Tony Dungy and Coach Lovie Smith of the Chicago Bears know how much a mentor can change a young boy's life ... they've experienced the power of mentoring first-hand. And you can, too, by volunteering as a Big Brother or Big Sister!
If you can talk sports, throw a perfect spiral (or even a not-so-perfect toss), or just hang out two or three times a month, you can make a difference! Volunteer today or donate now and raise your hand to be part of something Big!
Though Big Brothers Big Sisters is always looking for volunteers from all walks of life, right now there is a greater need for men, especially African-American and Hispanic Men.
More than 70% of our children waiting for a Big are boys, but only three out of every ten inquiries to volunteer come from men. Research shows that having the positive influence of a Big Brother makes a real difference in the life of a boy. So join the millions of volunteers that give a young person someone to look up to and learn why so many are now saying, “I get back so much more than I give.”
We are very appreciative of the support from CBS and the NFL for Big Brothers Big Sisters and the case for mentoring. This public service announcement was created by CBS Cares and done in conjunction with the NFL and Big Brothers Big Sisters. The PSA featured Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith and Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy and appeared during CBS’s broadcast of Super Bowl XLI on Sunday Feb.4, 2007. It marked the first time the Super Bowl featured a PSA with both team’s coaches.
