Back in the 1970s, Little League Coach E.G. Clayton wasn't trying to help young Troy Aikman get to the Super Bowl or the Football Hall of Fame. He was trying to help Troy learn how to hit a curve ball, and gain the confidence he'd need throughout his life.
But when you mentor a young person, you just never know how far he or she will go. E.G. Clayton always remembered the young man who looked up to him back then. And Troy definitely remembers Coach Clayton as the friend and mentor he still looks up to.
Today Troy is Giving Back by Helping Big Brothers Big Sisters
This season football fans and others watching Fox Sports will get to see a new public service announcement, or PSA, featuring Troy Aikman for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Troy helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl victories in the 1990s and was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 2006. Today he's helping lead the effort to attract more Big Brothers and Big Sisters as mentors to young people who need them.
