Chairman of the Board

John Frager joined the Board of Directors at Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County in 2003 and served as vice chairman in 2007 and 2008.  John has been one of the more active board members, helping to proactively recruit new mentors and significantly increase the number of children the organization serves by recognizing the necessity of having strong role models in children's lives.

In his experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County, John has focused on project planning and raising awareness within the business community for the annual Gourmet Dinner, the agency's biggest fundraiser.  He has also been instrumental in helping with board of directors development and recruiting and staff training. 

He is also President & CEO of Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial (G&E|BRE), a position he has held since June 2002.  Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial is one of Southern California's leading privately held commercial real estate brokerage firms.  Based in San Diego and a leader in market coverage (as ranked by CoStar), Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial represents over 40 million square feet of industrial, office and retail properties throughout the region.
