POSITION: Human Resources Intern/Volunteer

REPORTS TO: HR Director
STATUS: Volunteer/Intern
INTERN/VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES: Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County is looking for a Human Resources intern/volunteer who is trustworthy, stable and demonstrates initiative. The intern/volunteer will assist the HR Director in a supportive role. The intern/volunteer will assist in the administrative functions of the employee recognition program, training and development opportunities as well as create and maintain all new employee materials, including copying, creating file folders, filing, faxing, and database entry.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Intern/volunteer should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook, will have great attention to detail, and must be able to protect the confidentiality of our clients, volunteers and employees. Previous office experience is desired.
INTERN QUALIFICATIONS: College credit may be available depending on the requirements of your college or university. A degree is not required. A background or interest in Business Management, Organizational Development/Leadership and Human Resources is ideal. This is an unpaid internship. Intern candidates should be available to work 10-20 hours a week and pass a background check.
