Community Day - Saturday, November 1, 2008

Community Day will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at AMF Southtown Lanes from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Teams will join matches to enjoy two games of bowling, free shoe rental, food and beverages, T-shirts and prizes. There will be a halloween theme.

Participation is easy:

• Form teams of five, with each member collecting donations of at least $100
• Ask family, friends and co-workers to sponsor you or participate
• Collect donations as soon as possible and present with pledge form at the event

Bowlers receive:

• A total of two games
• A pair of rental bowling shoes
• A Bowl for Kids' Sake (BFKS) T-shirt

BBBS will provide:

• A pledge form
• A sample e-mail to promote your involvement that includes how funds raised will help our community
• Stories of matches to share

Registration: Bowlers should register by setting up their fundraising page on Firstgiving. Registrants should go to www.firstgiving.com/bbbsgtc, which is the start page for setting up a personalized fundraising page. You will then be able to send a link to all your family, friends, co-workers, etc. to solicit sponsoring pledges. Please make sure to "attach" your individual page to your team members, so that we will know who is bowling together, if applicable. Remember: It's not about bowling, it's about having fun while making a difference in the lives of children!  BFKS is an important fundraising event, and all proceeds go toward matching young people with Big Brothers and Big Sisters who can help them reach their full potential.
