Education and Enrichment Program
Big Brothers Big Sisters is committed to providing on-going educational activities to our matches and families. BBBS hopes that the youth in our program will have an enriching experience while in their match, but our job doesn’t stop there. We want to challenge our matches to think beyond high school – to explore postsecondary education and career opportunities and to learn about the many resources available in our Twin Cities community.
The Education and Enrichment program at Big Brothers Big Sisters strengthens mentoring by engaging youth in learning and postsecondary exploration. Through the program, we link our matches and families to colleges, universities, trade and technical schools, scholarship agencies, career exploration centers, financial aid support and enrichment activities. Opportunities are open to both Littles and High School Bigs.
Postsecondary preparation starts early. Match activities and resources for support will be available to guide our matches and families through the middle school and high school years and prepare youth for postsecondary success. Such activities include college exploration activities and campus visits, career exploration events, leadership opportunities, scholarship workshops and financial aid sessions.
Check back here for announcements of upcoming events and activities, and to find links to resources that will be useful as you explore college and scholarship opportunities. Please contact our office to learn more about Education and Enrichment activities available, or view our Cheat Sheet for College.
