Day on the Hill -- March 12, 2008

On March 12, 2008, more than 100 children gathered on the state capitol rotunda as part of Big Brothers Big Sisters annual Day on the Hill rally. Joining them were scores of elected officials, government employees, citizens and participants in the BBBS program. The rally served as a way for BBBS to show its appreciation for the state Legislature's support and the power of mentoring on Minnesota's children.
The rally included an important call to action. There are more than 800 Twin Cities' children who are waiting for a mentor, and we are seeking committeed and caring volunteers who are willing to be a mentor and get involved in supporting the young people of our community.
Research indicates that Big Brothers Big Sisters' mentoring relationships positively impact young people, enabling them to improve their levels of confidence, competence and caring.
