Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah receives approximately 17% of its operating funds from our household recycling program. We take your gently used and reusable goods and sell them to Savers stores along the Wasatch Front. Savers is owned and operated by Savers, Inc.
DONATING YOUR HOUSEHOLD ITEMS IS AS EASY!

- Drop off your donation 7 days a week at our Attended Donation Station (click link for hours and location)
- Call to schedule a pick up: 801-747-1050 in Salt Lake County, 1-800-238-8061 outside Salt Lake County
- Look for the yellow card in your mailbox
- Email us
On your scheduled pick-up day, mark them with a BBBS or the card and place your usable household items on your curbside, clearly visible from the street by 8:00 AM. Please call us at (801) 747-1050 if you are placing them somewhere other than curbside so we do not miss them or if you have an especially large donation. We do not have a two-person pick up truck and therefore are not able to pick up large furniture that would require two people to load and unload these items. Your items will be picked up by a Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah driver and a donation receipt will be left for your tax records.

What We Need

Clothing: ALL TYPES of usable clothing, accessories, and shoes for adults, children and babies.

Electrical: Working TVs (no console units please), stereos, radios, lamps, toasters, clocks, irons, blenders, mixers, power hand tools, coffee pots, calculators, fans, vacuum cleaners, sewing machines, heaters, etc. No computers

Kitchen Items: Pots, pans, dishes,china, glasses, knives, silverware, all types of kitchen utensils, etc.

Miscellaneous: Jewelry, toys, curtains, bedding, books, music, picture frames, hand tools, musical instruments, towels, sports equipment, suitcases, bicycles, cameras, garden tools, camping equipment, knick-knacks, etc. No gasoline or propane items please.

Small furniture: (75 pounds or less). No mattresses or box springs please

By choosing to donate your used items, instead of throwing it away, you are helping to preserve precious landfill space. Time, energy and raw materials are also saved when items such as the ones donated to The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah are reused instead of using new items.
