The Campaign for Children in Crisis is a five-year campaign raising $22 million to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas serve the growing needs of at-risk children in North Texas.
The Crisis:
- Census data estimates that more than 150,000 children in North Texas are living with at-risk factors in their lives.
- More than 1,700 children have signed-up and are waiting for a Big Brother or a Big Sister.
- In North Texas alone, there are 70,000 children with at least one parent in prison. Without intervention, statistics show that 70% of these children will follow their parents into prison.
Goals of The Campaign:
- to fund 15,000 new mentoring relationships for at-risk children in North Texas
- to build BBBSNT’s endowment and scholarship programs directly benefiting at-risk children in North Texas
- to purchase and renovate a new BBBSNT headquarters for centralized administration in North Texas
