Big Brothers Big Sisters Play Video

The 3rd Annual Heels and Hills Half Marathon is pleased to announce a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters. With 1,000 runners in their 2008 event, this women's themed running event for first-timers and seasoned athletes alike is pleased to welcome the youth mentoring organization as a recipient of proceeds from the event.

In May, 2006, Paula Robertson founded Heels and Hills, Inc., a non-profit organization, to promote and increase involvement in women's fitness for both first-timers and seasoned professionals. She began the event to encourage women to improve their personal fitness levels. Now, she’s pleased that the event that she created to improve the lives of women has evolved into an event that will also benefit children in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

“The Heels and Hills event encourages and empowers people to improve themselves by setting goals and achieving them,” said Robertson. “We are very excited this year to partner with an organization that encourages and empowers children to do the same. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that we all can relate to and we are proud to be running for the sake of children.”

The Heels and Hills event, open to men and women, showcases the City of Irving’s beautiful Campion Trails. The course takes place on the trails and streets of Las Colinas and features a half marathon, a 5K and a 1 mile fun run.

Participants raise pledges for their involvement with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Register or learn more at www.heelsandhills.com. Online registration closes April 27. Runners may register on the day of the event as well.
