Where can you find great fellowship, delicious food, entertainment, boating and more? At the BBBS Big Day At The Lake event, on Saturday July 19, 2008.

What is Big Day At The Lake? It is a fun activity (on Lake Norman) for our Big Brothers Big Sisters and their Littles, thanks to a wonderful committee of volunteers! The best part ... the event is FREE (for Bigs, Littles and interested volunteers).

The goals for our 2008 event are to create a memorable day for attendees, recruit 15 new volunteer Big Brothers Big Sisters and to raise funds to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte. To date, over $40,000 has been raised for our agency!

"This event is important because it provides youth in our programs an experience that they would not have otherwise. As our programs are designed to do, Big Day at the Lake is one of many special activities that help to broaden the horizons of our Littles," says Sarah Cherne, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte.

This year approximately 120 matches will experience boat rides, swimming, ice cream, pizza, hotdogs (complete with all the trimmings) games, and rock climbing too!
