Executive Job Announcement: 

Vice President of Development

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte seeks an experienced professional to build and manage a development program to fuel the growth of the organization. This is a senior management position reporting to the CEO. The Vice President of Development works closely with members of the Board and staff and provides professional support to the agency in all fund-raising activities. 

The Vice President of Development is responsible for designing and leading all individual giving fundraising efforts for the organization. The Vice President will be responsible for proactively building, coordinating, maintaining and deepening relationships with current and prospective major donors. The VP of Development will be responsible for developing and implementing a new major gifts strategic plan, overseeing and conducting research to identify and cultivate new major donor prospects and preparing the CEO and Board members, for donor visits.

The VP of Development will also be responsible for oversight to all aspects of the Fund Development Department. Strong experience and a record of accomplishment securing corporate support, grant support and foundation gifts, as well as direct experience leading special events and comprehensive campaigns is necessary.

Requirements:
An undergraduate degree and/or graduate degree and five plus years of leadership and supervision in development in a non-profit environment; preferably with a child serving organization. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of success in leading a development program. The candidate must have extensive experience in donor campaigns with knowledge of campaign procedures, overall fundraising procedures as well as possess high level management skill. The candidate must possess strong organizational and analytical skills with ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate and advance strategic plans. It is necessary that he/she must possess superior interpersonal skills with a proven ability to successfully interact and collaborate with varied constituencies.
