Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on the generosity of donors like you to continue to provide mentors for children. And your contribution stays right in your local community.
Here are just some of the ways you can donate:
Individual Support
Financial donations provide direct and immediate support, usually in the form of cash (via credit card, check, or electronic transfer) or publicly traded securities. Donors generally qualify for tax deductions. Make your gift online today!
If you are interested in receiving half--50%--of your gift to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central MO back, simply complete the YOP (Youth Opportunities Program) Form we send you upon receipt of your gift of $500 or greater, get it notarized, and send it back to us with proof of payment (cancelled check, etc.). You're done...just wait for half of your money back at tax time. Yes, back. In addition to the charitable contribution deduction you already receive on your taxes, you also receive this money back in the form of a credit from the State of Missouri for having invested in your local community's needs. For example, if you write a $1,000 check, and you are eligible for YOP Tax Credits (most individuals and businesses are, foundations are not), you will get $500 of that back. If you want to read more fine print, visit http://ded.mo.gov/. In essence, a $1,000 gift costs you less than $300 in real dollars.
If you would like to donate by mail, please send your check to:

Tribute & Memorial Gifts
Giving a gift in memory of a loved one or in honor of a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion is a special way to pay tribute to that special someone while supporting the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters. All memorial and honor gifts will be acknowledged through a personal note sent by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to the honored person(s). Make your tribute or memorial gift online.
Stocks & Securities
Increasing numbers of donors are making gifts to Big Brothers Big Sisters using appreciated securities including stock, bonds, and mutual funds. Learn more about stocks & securities. This is an easier process than many people think. We are happy to work with you and your broker to relieve you of any capital gains on stocks you may own. Your original investment continues to be a wonderful one, well into the future of a child's life.
Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers match their employees’ gifts to charitable institutions. Some companies will match the gifts of employee spouses and retired employees as well. Ask the human resources or benefits office at your workplace for more information. Find out if your company has a matching gifts program. This, too, is an easy process, so inquire about it at work.

A planned gift to Big Brothers Big Sisters ensures the continuation of our landmark mentoring programs and creates your own legacy of support. Planned giving also offers significant advantages, including tax breaks and a potential income increase.
Donate Items: In-Kind Donations
Because we don't operate a facility for kids, we generally are not looking for in-kind donations such as clothing or furniture. However, because we do offer programs and activities in which our "matches" of Bigs and Littles participate, we will gladly accept items such as nearly new camping or fishing gear, some sports equipment, concert tickets, sporting event tickets, and so forth. In addition, we actively seek skills and services as in-kind gifts, such as marketing expertise, event food and beverages, and exclusive packages or desirable items for our auctions. We are happy to provide a donation receipt for your gift. For further clarification, please contact Lisa Eimers, Development Director, at Lisa.Eimers@bbbs.org or 573-874-3677 ext. 209.
