Let's reach for the stars with Bowl for Kids' Sake 2009!
Last year, because of your generosity, we raised over $50,000 for the at-risk youth of our mid-Missouri community! This is the most money that’s ever been raised by Bowl for Kids’ Sake in Columbia. All of the funds raised through Bowl for Kids’ Sake go directly toward matching and supporting our “Bigs” and “Littles.”
The money raised from Bowl for Kids’ Sake will allow Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri to match the at-risk youth of our community with caring adult mentors. When at-risk children are professionally matched and supported, with a caring adult mentor, great things happen to the child and to our community: better choices are made, self-confidence is boosted, violence goes down, and academic achievement goes up.
Some great businesses in the community have donated fantastic prizes. Both the team and the individual that raise the most money will both win special prizes and several others will be raffled off to lucky participants.
Prize for the Top Fundraising Team*: 5 tickets to a 2009 MU Football game and access to a stadium suite!
Prize for the Top Fundraising Individual*: $500 travel voucher
Raffle prizes have been donated from:
Moberly's Bowl For Kids' Sake will feature great silent auction items and Moberly teams are eligible to win the Top Fundraising Team and Top Fundraising Individual prizes, too!
MU Greek Competition:
BBBS challenged the MU IFC and Panhellenic fraternities and sororities to see who can raise the most money. The house(s) that win the competition will win great prizes:
1st place team: Room rental from Tiger Hotel for the chapter
2nd place team: Bus voucher from First Student for the chapter
(It is possible for one house to win both prizes if they have two teams that raise the first and second most amounts!)
*Winners will be announced last week in April and eligibility is open to both Columbia and Moberly participants.
