As you know, being a Big is a whole lot of fun – and it’s easy! In only 4 hours per month you make a Big difference in a child’s life through simple friendship. Meanwhile, you get to see the world through the eyes of a child again!

At many agencies there are children waiting to be matched with a great Big Brother or Big Sister just like you. Do you know someone who would make a great Big? Word-of-mouth referrals are the #1 reason others decide to volunteer. 

Here are simple suggestions for recruiting more great Bigs:

• Spread the word. Send an e-mail to your friends, family, and co-workers about how fun and easy it is to be a Big.  Use a Big Brothers Big Sisters e-card  or write your own. Include a link to www.bigsofcentralmo.org.
• Invite a Big Brothers Big Sisters recruiter from your local agency to host a brown bag lunch or attend a staff meeting at your office.
• Write about your experiences in your employee newsletter.  Ask readers to apply online or call 573-874-3677 to get started today.
• Ask a Big Brothers Big Sisters recruiter to come speak to your church, synagogue or faith community.
• Carry a photo of your Little in your wallet.  Tell your story in the grocery line, at the water cooler or anywhere else people will listen.  Ask them to visit www.bigsofcentralmo.org to learn more.
