BBBS Upstate Set To Make Bowl For Kids' Sake A Striking Success
GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 24, 2011) - Volunteers and community members are lacing up their bowling shoes to help at risk youth reach their full potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate is holding its second annual Bowl For Kids' Sake Fundraiser in Spartanburg. This exciting event will be Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Star Lanes located at 2595 East Main Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307. Call (864) 542-9328 to sign up for this event through Friday March 4th. Approximately two hundred players will collect money from their friends and family then they will bowl with their team. Money raised from this event will go directly into the BBBS Upstate program to serve children in need.
"This event is a fun way to make a difference in a child's life," says BBBS Upstate Spartanburg Site Coordinator Charlene Cheeks. "It isn't about your bowling skills or your athletic abilities. You can bowl a strike or a gutter ball and the kids will still win."
Teams of five and Sponsorships are still available. Levels include: Corporate Sponsor, $2,500; Corporate Team Sponsor, $1,000; Series Sponsor, $500; Lane Sponsor, $250; Team of Five, $250. Current sponsors for this second annual event include Advance America, American Eagle, Bank of America, Circle E. Electric, Conrad and Company, Consulting Engineering Services LLC, DBA TLAQK Contracting, Elliott & Painter Wealthcare, Kohl's, Michelin North America, Palmetto Beauty School, SC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy , and Summit Engineering.

sisters are 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to begin
using illegal drugs, and 27% less likely to begin using alcohol.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the
oldest, largest, and most effective youth mentoring organization in
America. BBBS Upstate has served the area since 1970. BBBS Upstate
serves at risk children ages six through 18 in Anderson, Greenville,
Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg counties.
