Beth Senger
Chief Executive Officer
|
Beth’s career has taken her from El Paso to Panama to Germany, and across the United States, in roles as a trainer, career consultant, cryptographic technician, and mentoring professional. In 2000, she completed her Master’s in Social Work and helped open Big Brothers Big Sisters in El Paso, Texas. At the time, El Paso was the largest city in the U.S. without a formal mentoring program. Beth, along with her valued team of colleagues, has helped her agency provide high-impact mentoring services to thousands of at-risk youth in the El Paso community. She has been a trainer and/or contributing author for the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory, the Texas Governor’s Mentoring Initiative, the Nonprofit Enterprise Center, and EMT Associates.
Along with the Department of Education mentoring project, Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso has successfully performed on the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Juvenile Mentoring Program Grant (JUMP), the Department of Health and Human Services Mentoring Children of Prisoners Grant (MCOP), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Youth Violence Prevention Grant, and Corporation for National and Community Services grants for Engaging Baby Boomers and AmeriCorps.

Bobbi Jo Ortiz
Chief Operating Officer
|
Bobbi has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso since in 2001. In her years here, she’s seen the agency grow from a mere 20 matches of mentors to children in its first year of operation, to a staggering 900+ matches in 2007. She has been a big part of the agency’s growth, moving quickly from part-time summer hire her first year to now a vital member of the organization’s executive staff. In 2003, she was recognized by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America as the National Marketing and Public Relations staff of the year.
Bobbi came to the agency with plenty of experience advocating for children. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Texas at El Paso, then became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through her Masters studies at New Mexico State University. The social work background provided a great foundation for her years at Child Protective Services, Lee and Beulah Moore Children’s Home, and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). She’s also served as a trainer for the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory. And currently, in addition to her work at Big Brothers Big Sisters, she is an instructor in Human Service at the University of Phoenix.
She is most proud of her two most recent accomplishments, 2-year-old daughter Hannah Ortiz and 5-month-old son Noah Ortiz.
