Arthur Mollenhauer
Chief Executive Officer

Arthur Mollenhauer is the Chief Executive Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Mr. Mollenhauer boasts a distinguished, 24-year career with Baxter Healthcare where he served in General Management, Business Development, Strategic Planning, and Financial Management roles.  Arthur served Lake County BBBS as a volunteer Big Brother and Board Member for over 7 years and was also a fellow in the Leadership Greater Chicago Program.  He has traveled extensively and has lived in Rome, Miami and Los Angeles. His family is active supporters of many cultural and academic institutions in the metropolitan area as well as the United Way campaign.

He is a graduate of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and Eastern Illinois University. He was born in Chicago and attended Morton West High School in Berwyn. He currently resides with his wife in north suburban Evanston

 


Jeremy Foster
Vice President of Community Development



Jeremy has been CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County since 2007 and in July 2010 became the Vice President of Community Development with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitian Chicago.  He has worked in the nonprofit youth development sector for eighteen years.  Prior to joining Big Brothers Big Sisters, Jeremy spent 5 years as the Executive Director of the Mary J. Treglia Community House in Sioux City, Iowa.  He is a graduate of Briar Cliff University and is a certified Family Development Specialist through the University of Iowa. 

 

 
Cheryl Howard-Neal
Director of Specialized Mentoring Programs

Cheryl is the MCP Project Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Cheryl is responsible for managing the day to day operations and management of the Metro Chicago MCP program. Ms. Howard comes to BBBSMC with more than 15 years of service in the non-profit sector working with mentoring programs and volunteers. Most recently, Cheryl served as Director of Mentor and Volunteer Services for Chicago Youth Centers. Prior to CYC, Cheryl worked at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Texas in Houston for five years. At BBBS Houston, Cheryl managed both Community and Site Based programs.

Cheryl is a native of Chicago. She graduated from Hyde Park Academy and DePaul University. Cheryl obtained a BA in Political Science with a minor in Communications.  

  
Michelle Hanfling
Senior Director of Site Based Programs
Michelle Hanfling is the Senior Director of Site Based Programs for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Michelle is responsible for supervising the school, workplace and club based programs and six program coordinators. She has been with the Agency for seven years and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the Site Based Program area.

Ms. Hanfling received a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago and holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She currently resides in Chicago with her husband

 

 
Tracey Black
Director of Community Based Programs

Tracey Black is the Director of Community Based Programs for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Ms. Black has extensive experience in staff and program participant training, developing all aspects of solid mentoring programs, statistical analysis of program impact, child safety, and federal grant writing and reporting. In her new position at BBBSMC, Tracey’s responsibilities will include working with program staff to improve the length, strength and quality of mentoring services and to ensure that safety systems and Quality Assurance processes are fully functional. 
 
Prior to joining BBBSMC, Ms. Black served as the Director of Program Quality for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County where she has been employed since 2004.  Tracey received both a Masters and Bachelors in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago as a non-traditional student.  She is also a Licensed Social Worker, a certified School Social Worker, and a certified Child Welfare Specialist.  Tracey currently resides with her husband and two of their five children in Mount Prospect.

 

   
Everardo Franco
Director of Administration & Operations

Everardo Franco is the Director of Administration and Operations for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago.  His career has evolved to cross over all areas of administration and operations including benefits, employee relations, staffing, compensation, physical & technical infrastructure, legal compliance, strategic initiatives and day-to-day agency operations.  He was recently appointed to serve as a representative on the National BBBSA Hispanic Mentoring Initiative in Chicago.   Mr. Franco has been with BBBSMC for seven years.   

Prior to his career with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Mr. Franco has worked with a variety of organizations including the National Center for Latinos with Disabilities (NCLD), where he held titles as Office Manager, Associate Director and Executive Director during his 10 year career with the NCLD.  Mr. Franco has also worked at the International Latino Cultural Center (formerly the CLC), and the National Puerto Rican Forum. 

Mr. Franco is a graduate of East-West University and resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Jessica Rechtien
Director of Partnership Development

Jessica is the Director of Partnership Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Jessica is responsible for driving the agency’s strategic growth through the cultivation, recruitment and stewardship of mentor-rich corporations, cause-marketing partners, universities, school districts and other organizations that provide sustained financial and volunteer resources.   Jessica has been with the Agency for close to two years.

Prior to coming to BBBSMC, Ms. Rechtien served as the After-School Program Director for the Union Square Partnership in New York, and spent three years as an Enrollment Specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay. Jessica received a Masters in Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and is a graduate of Boston College.

 

 
Johanna Agusta Sigurdardottir
Director of  Finance

Johanna Agusta Sigurdardottir is the Director of Finance for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Johanna is responsible for all areas of Finance including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Flow Management, Employee Payroll and monthly reporting to the BBBSMC Board of Directors Finance Committee. Johanna has been with BBBSMC for over three years.
 
To compliment her career, Ms. Sigurdardottir has worked for Islandsbanki Asset Management for 11 years as a Financial Advisor and as Marketing Director.  She was also Finance Director and Treasurer of the Board for the Icelandi Handball Federation and worked most recently as the Business Advisor and Assistant for Koren Nelson Design.

Originally from Iceland, Ms. Sigurdardottir has lived in Chicago since 2002.  She is a graduate of The University of Iceland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  She currently resides in Chicago with her son and husband.
