 Nancy Thompson, CEO, joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands in 2005.  Thompson served as Executive Director of the Omaha Community Partnership, Director of Youth Services Planning for the State of Nebraska, and is a former Nebraska State Senator. She serves as Vice-Chair of the Nationwide Leadership Council (NLC) of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.   A former elementary school teacher, Thompson has a BA and MA from Creighton University.

   Nancy Thompson and her husband Jim have four children and five grandchildren.  They are also former foster parents. Thompson serves on the Board of Directors of Mercy High School, AAA Nebraska advisory board and is a former board member of United Way of the Midlands, One World Community Health Center, the Great Plains Girl Scout Council, the Nebraska Commission for the Protection of Children, and the Nebraska Foster Care Review Board.

Nichole Turgeon, Director of Fund Development , joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands in 2005.  Nichole is a former AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer.  She began her career in fundraising as a college student working to raise funds from university alumni.  Prior to joining Big Brothers Big Sisters, Nichole worked for Habitat for Humanity and Nebraska AIDS Project.  Nichole has been matched with her Little Sister Briana since 2005.

Nichole is a member of Class 32 of Leadership Omaha. Nichole serves on the nationwide Fund Development Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.  She is Vice-Chair of the Fund Development Committee of the Junior League of Omaha and recently graduated from the League's Leadership Academy.  In addition to her work with the Junior League, she has volunteered her time with many community groups including the American Parkinson Disease Association, American Red Cross, Film Streams, Habitat for Humanity, and the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.  Nichole is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She received her BBA in Marketing Resource Management from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington State and also attended Lancaster University in the United Kingdom.

    Abby Riessland, Program Director, joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands in 2003.  As Program Director, Abby is responsible for supervising program staff that recruit, interview, screen, and train potential mentors.  She directs the intake of all Little Brothers/Sisters, the matching process, as well as ongoing match supervision.  Abby also oversees the collection and reporting data for the various programs. Through her five years of experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Abby has held many positions.  Those include Partnership Coordinator and Associate Program Director.

   Abby received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is a certified trainer in the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets.  She also works closely with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program staff on pilot initiatives that BBBSM has been selected to participate in, including Enhanced School Based Mentoring, Hispanic Leadership Network, Strength of Relationship Survey, and Program Outcome Measures.  Abby is originally from Central Nebraska, where most of her family still resides.

 Sheryl Lindau, Director of Organizational Development, joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands in 2007.  She is a former Mayor of Wayne, Nebraska, a position she held for 10 years.  Following a move to Omaha in 2004, she secured a staff position in the City of Omaha Mayor's Office, serving under Mayor Mike Fahey.  In 2006, she accepted a position with United States Senator Ben Nelson's Re-election Campaign to be the principle campaign fundraiser for greater Nebraska.

   Sheryl has served on numerous statewide boards and commissions over the years.  She is a Past President of the Nebraska League of Municipalities and Past Chair and former Trustee of the Nebraska State College System.  She holds a BA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska - Omaha.
