Male Mentors Wanted! Though Big Brothers Big Sisters is always looking for volunteers from all walks of life, right now there is a greater need for men.

Being a Big Brother is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. As a Big Brother, you get to be a kid again for an hour a week or even three to five hours every other week depending on the program you choose while you give a kid the invaluable gift of your friendship. Of the hundreds of boys waiting for a Big Brother right now, there’s one wanting to play video games, shoot hoops, or just hang out with someone just like you!

Why do we need Big Brothers?
More than 70% of our children are waiting for a Big are boys, but only two out of every 10 inquiries to volunteer come from men. Research shows that having the positive influence of a Big Brother makes a real difference in the life of a boy. So join the millions of volunteers that give a young person someone to look up to and learn why so many are now saying, “I get back so much more than I give.” And those who volunteer will tell you how they wish they had decided to become a BIG sooner.

African-American Men
We are faced with a crisis – and you can help. Too many African-American boys are at risk of dropping out of school, getting involved in drugs--losing their way. They are more likely to complete high school in prison than go to college. Having a Big Brother who can guide them and help them make positive choices will change their lives and make our communities stronger. Having a Big Brother they can relate to can introduce these kids to opportunities and experiences that will broaden their horizons.

Meet some of our Little Brothers that need a Big Brother Like YOU!

MEET CODI:Tyler is 7 years old and loves outdoor activities! His hobbies include baseball, swimming, riding his dirt bike and skate boarding. Codi is in the 2nd Grade and gets along very well with his teachers, children in his class and even enjoys spending time with the older kids . Codi is a very active and caring little boy and is looking for a Big Brother to spend one-on-one time with who enjoys having a good time and likes outdoor activities.

MEET CLEONTE':Cleonte' is an active 8 year old that enjoys skating, bowling, fishing, Nintendo, basketball, baseball, going to Chuck E Cheese's, water slides and visiting the McWane Center. Cleonte' is in the 3rd Grade and makes excellent grades! He is a very smart little boy that gets along well with his teachers and other children his age. Cleonte' enjoys being outside and likes sports so he is looking for a Big Brother to spend time with who enjoys similar activities. Cleonte' is very friendly and is looking forward to spending time with his Big Brother and learning from a male role model he can look up to.
