Looking for a new way to support
Big Brothers Bigs Sisters?

Big Brothers Big Sisters Pick up service collects clothing and cloth items to help fund a positive change in children’s lives in our community. 

We’ll help you create more space in your closet and you’ll help us match more children to Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers.
If you have clothing or small household items to donate, it’s simple to schedule a free pick-up.
Just call 563-1997, fill out the online pick-up form or drop-off your items at one of our convenient locations.

Be sure to read the donation and pick-up guidelines before requesting your pick up.

We will be announcing our top Statewide Fund-raisers on July 1st! Prizes include a 7 day cruise for 2 to Mexico or the Caribbean from Holland America Lines and several round trip tickets anywhere Alaska Airlines flies including Mexico and Hawaii!

This fundraiser is the largest of the year for Big Brothers Big Sisters nationwide, and last year generated more than $310,000 for the programs in Alaska alone.

Children who are mentored through Big Brothers Big Sisters are shown to be more productive in school, have better relationships with peers and family, and grow up to be more involved in their communities.  Great things can happen when the children in our community feel supported and encouraged.


 

  Did you know, as they walked down the aisle to receive their diplomas, our 2009 graduating class was missing 1/3 of their peers they started high school with as freshman?

Big Brothers Big Sisters promotes literacy and education for our kids. Children matched for a year or more are less likely to skip a day of school, more likely to complete assignments and report a higher value on academics as a whole. Our kids are worth whatever it takes, and it takes volunteers.

Wells Fargo customers can now give directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska through their ATM!

Wells Fargo is adding a donation option to 105 ATM machines in 25 communities across Alaska. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska is one of five charities chosen as a partner.
