Community-based mentoring is the traditional Big Brothers Big Sisters relationship, where Bigs and Littles get together on their own to share fun activities they both enjoy.
Community-Based Opportunities:
- Traditional Program: Volunteer Big Brothers and Big Sisters (at least 18 years of age) meet with their Little Brothers and Little Sisters one-to-one in the community for three to five hours per week for at least one year.
- Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program: Serving a child with an incarcerated parent under the same requirements of the traditional program.
- First Mentors: College students meet with their Littles one-to-one for three to five hours per week for at least one school year.
- Big Couples Program: A husband and wife become Bigs to one child.
- Big Families Program: An entire family mentors a child.
