National Summer Learning Day-Passport to
Thursday, July 14, 2016
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County, a sponsoring partner of the Flint and Genesee Literacy Network’s Summer Learning Alliance, hopes to inspire the community to take action by advocating for participation in summer learning and meal programs and celebrating healthy living during our local implementation of National Summer Learning Day. Children and families will be encouraged to explore a variety of programs available throughout the summer via five fun learning stations: Education, Health & Fitness, Arts & Culture, Nutrition and Recreation while enjoying the natural setting of Genesee County Parks’ Bluebell beach. Food and entertainment will be provided including face painting, bounce house, dunk tank and much more! This event is available to our youth, families and matches at no cost.

Volunteers, Littles, and their families participate in a youth version of the Gary Haggart Bowl for Kids’ Sake at Galaxy Lanes. Littles collect pledges and come out for a fun evening of bowling, refreshments, and prizes. The dedication of the children to raise money for a program they benefit from and benefits other Genesee County youth is inspiring!
Flint Motorcycle Club Annual Picnic

The Flint Motorcycle Club invites Bigs, Littles, and their families to their club in Otisville. They enjoy an activity filled day of crafts, games, fishing, food, and fun!
72nd Annual Meeting/Recognition
September 23, 2016
Big Brothers Big Sisters celebrates its 72nd annual Meeting and Recognition Celebration. The event will celebrate 72 years of history, community support, and volunteer commitment. It will include volunteer recognition, a celebrity speaker, live entertainment and Hors D’oeuvres.
Getting Better Grades Workshop
October 18, 2016
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a partnering organization, empowers youth to achieve academic success by providing test taking tips, creating good study habits and encouraging them to excel in school. The Deltas conduct grade-appropriate, educational workshops for our Littles. They also host a workshop for the Parents/Bigs providing tips on how to support the youth both academically and emotionally. Youth are provided donated school supplies and backpacks.
Donor Recognition 2015 – 2016

A special event to recognize Individual and Corporate contributors for the year 2015 – 2016. The goal is to cultivate and nurture donor relationships.
Annual Holiday Fundraiser
October 17 - December 2, 2016
Beautiful poinsettias, living wreaths, and kissing balls are available through this fundraising sale. The community is invited to purchase the plants to support our efforts as they decorate and celebrate the winter holiday season.

Every year Big Brothers Big Sisters celebrates the winter holiday season with Bigs, Littles and their families at our Annual Holiday Party at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center. Children come out and enjoy entertainment, refreshments, gifts, games and the excitement of the Flint Motorcycle Club Ice Races!
The Flint Motorcycle Club hosts this indoor racing contest every year with proceeds benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event attracts well over 2,000 spectators annually. Big Brothers Big Sisters is grateful for our lasting relationship and this tradition with the Flint Motorcycle Club.
11th Annual Mentoring
January 16, 2017
To commemorate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and National Mentoring Awareness Month, this event engages community members to incorporate mentoring into their lives by volunteering to mentor a youth from Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event features breakfast, a keynote speaker, testimonials and entertainment.
38th Gary Haggart Annual Bowl
for Kids’ Sake
February 23-26, 2017
The Gary Haggart Bowl for Kids’ Sake is our largest annual fundraiser. Over 2,500 individuals from Genesee County and surrounding communities come out to Galaxy Bowling Center for the Big Brothers Big Sisters bowling Challenge. The event provides a chance for all ages and bowling abilities to support mentoring needs and Opportunities for children in our community. Corporate sponsors and pledges collected by participants provide Big Brothers Big Sisters with a significant portion of revenue to support services and programs. For many community members, Bowl For Kids’ Sake is a tradition that brings together fellowship, fun and the focus on behalf of the children. Join the thousands of people who will come to Galaxy Lanes in February to attend our great Party With A Purpose, the Gary Haggart Bowl for Kids’ Sake - 2017.

A variety of spring Perennials are available through this fundraising flower sale. General Community and members of Big Brothers Big Sisters program are encouraged to purchase plants through a presale to support the agency’s efforts.
42nd Annual Golf Tournament - Fore the
June 12, 2017
One of the older charity golf tournaments in the area, this event brings together golfers who want to enjoy a day on the course as they support our mission.
