Corporate Giving

By giving to Big Brothers Big Sisters, companies ensure a better future for our children and the community.

Proven Cause. Sound Investment.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a well-respected organization with a sterling reputation and proven results.  Some of our recent accolades and accomplishments include:

  • The largest and most scientifically proven mentoring program in Missouri. Since 1914, BBBSEMO has been offering mentoring programs to youth in the Eastern Missouri region.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri is one of ten nationwide programs to be identified by the U.S. Department of Justice Blueprint for Violence Prevention as a prevention program effective in reducing adolescent violent crime, aggression, and substance abuse.
  • BBBSEMO serves as a pilot site for Research and Development projects, hosts national learning events, is a Public/Private Ventures research participant, and is the Training and Development center for the 170 BBBS agencies in the Midwest
  • One of only eight affiliates (there are 430 affiliates nationwide) chosen by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to be a Research and Development Agency.
  • One of 10 affiliates chosen to participate in the National School-Based Mentoring Research Study, one of seven agencies to serve on the school-based mentoring task force, and one of three agencies to be requested to participate in a new National Retention-Rate Pilot Study.
  • Secured highest rating available from the Better Business Bureau
  • In 2007, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri launched an initiative called Big Brothers Big Sisters Amachi Missouri. This partnership with affiliates in Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia, Jefferson City and Joplin, allows all Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies to work together to serve children of prisoners throughout the entire state of Missouri.
  • On April 11, 2007 Missouri Governor Matt Blunt signed a proclamation introducing the Missouri Mentor Initiative, a state policy that allows state employees to take paid time to participate as mentors with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
  • In addition to these awards and accolades, BBBSEMO received and met all deliverables for two multi-year federal grants, one from the United States Department of Education in 2002 and the other from the United States Department of Health and Human Services in 2003. These grants, along with the agency’s host of accomplishments, speak directly to its capacity to provide quality mentoring programs to youth in Missouri.
