Host an Event

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri is fortunate to have so many clubs, groups, organizations, schools, companies and individuals host tournaments, carnivals, dinners, or special promotions to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

We would love to have the opportunity to partner with you or your organization. The type of fundraiser you organize is up to you, though it needs approval from our organization before we can be promoted as a beneficiary. If you are uncertain what you want to do, we are happy to give you some creative suggestions. Please note that most events can not be held during the months of September and October due to the United Way Campaign period.

Some benefit ideas include:

Hold a Golf, Softball or Tennis Tournament: Charge registration for foursomes, singles, doubles and mixed participants. Consider a pre or post event auction to raise even more money!

Have Auctions or Raffles: Solicit prizes from local businesses and have the participants bid on items or purchase raffle tickets for a small fee.

Hold a "Rebel with a Cause" Day: Employees can break your dress code and for each offense make a gift to BBBS.

Hold a Dress Down Day: Employees can contribute a small fee to wear casual clothes to work for the day.

Plan a Benefit Concert: Invite local talents or students to perform in a benefit concert. Charge a small admission for tickets.

Have a Fish Fry or Benefit Dinner: Prepare meals, sandwiches or an all-you-can-eat dinner and charge a small fee per plate or per person.

Host a Trivia Night: Charge a fee per person or per table of eight. Provide snacks and give cash prizes to the winning teams. Organize a 50-50 drawing and solicit businesses for door prize giveaways.

Host a Benefit Dance: Contact a local group of musicians to entertain your guests! Charge an admission fee and provide food and beverages for a great time!

Organize a Fishing Derby/Tournament: Charge a fee per person or per boat and award the top teams prizes based on weight of the fish. Also award prizes for the biggest fish!
