Sports Buddies is an activity-based mentoring program that is aimed to increase male involvement, because the need for men is great. 

Though Sports Buddies is intended to increase male involvement, the program is for male and female adult volunteers who are sports enthusiasts. The Sports Buddies program is similar to the Community-Based program BBBSNEFL offers, except it enables adult volunteers to bond over the common interest of sports with their “Little Brother” or “Little Sister.” Sports Buddies matches will have access to free and group rated tickets to sporting events, as well as sports related participatory activities. Sports Buddies is a great opportunity for children to experience sporting and recreational activities that were once unfeasible.

If you are a Sports Buddies match, you will have access to:

University of North Florida: free admission to all University of North Florida regular athletic events to matches with valid ID card. (excluding conference basketball games M&W, and FL and FSU baseball vs. UNF, and no JU games).

The Daytona Cubs: free tickets to Sports Buddies matches with a valid ID card to games designated in advance by The Daytona Cubs.

     

The First Tee: provide free range balls and free golfing to Littles who come with their Bigs, with valid ID.  Bigs will pay normal fees.  Youth clubs will be available at no charge.

  

                                                                

Jacksonville University: free admission to all JU regular season athletic events to Sports Buddies matches with valid ID card. 

Jacksonville Suns: free tickets to Sports Buddies matches with valid ID card to games designated in advance by the Jacksonville Suns.  The free ticket offer is good only at regular season games on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. 

MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation: free access to tennis courts on Saturdays to Sports Buddies matches with a valid ID card, free admission to various tournaments hosted by MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation, free access to certain events held throughout the year to matches with a valid ID card. 

 

YMCA: free admission to any YMCA in Northeast Florida to Sports Buddies matches with a valid ID card.  

 

Duval County Schools: free admission to all high school athletic events in the Duval School County area to Sports Buddies matches with a valid ID.
