News Release Oct. 5th, 2008 NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. - At the pinnacle of the fall foliage season, motorcyclists from the tri-state area rolled through scenic Orange County, raising enough money for Orange County Big Brothers Big Sisters to support a variety of activities. Sponsored by K. Hovnanian Homes and V-Force Customs, the first "Ride for a Child’s Hope" raised more than $2,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. "We are gratefully touched by the initiative of K. Hovnanian and V-Force Customs," said Nancy Kosloski, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sister of Orange County. "They brought together a day of enthusiasm, caring and support for our children. The fund today will help Big Brothers Big Sisters continue to be a force of support and change in the lives of the children we serve throughout Orange County." Kosloski said the money raised today will pay for at least two bus trips or pay admission to a cultural or sports event for the children and their sponsors. V-Force Customs owners Vinnie DiMartino and Cody Connelly, formerly of American Chopper fame, led the ride through the Lower Hudson Valley countryside. The ride began at the V-Force shop in Rock Tavern, N.Y., and finished up at K. Hovnanian’s new townhome community, The Grove at New Windsor. "We appreciate all the support we received," said DiMartino. "It’s great to be involved and give back to our local community and we look forward to doing it again next year." Riders enjoyed a barbecue lunch with DJ Glenn W, who donated his services, and with several children and their mentors, who joined the party at the Clubhouse. Several homeowners also joined the party. "Building great neighborhoods includes establishing links with the community and the organizations that make it great," said Steve Caporaso, area vice president for K. Hovnanian Homes. "We’re pleased to have established this important relationship with Big Brothers Big Sisters and excited to be part of this event. We appreciate the area residents who came out to support this worthy cause and we challenge everyone to make next year’s event bigger and better than this year."
