Holiday Gift Wrapping Fundraiser 2009
BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS AND VOLUNTEERS WRAP UP ANOTHER HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER
Newburgh, NY – Gifts were given and there was plenty of joy to go around at this year’s successful Holiday Giftwrap Fundraiser in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County. The spirit of the season moved more than 140 volunteers to spend almost 100 hours of volunteer time over the course of nine days to wrap thousands of presents for mall customers, raising $6,814 for one-to-one mentoring and youth development programs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County would like to sincerely thank all those who supported the Holiday Gift Wrapping Fundraiser by volunteering their time and wrapping skills and those who stopped by to show their support. The monies raised go to an annual match fund, calling for public contributions to supplement grants for youth mentoring programs.
Of the over140 volunteer wrappers who took time from their busy holiday schedules included employees from Hudson Health Plan, Walden Federal Savings Bank, TD Bank, Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, students from Newburgh Free Academy, Washingtonville, Valley Central, Meadow Hill School’s “Friends of Rachel Club,” members of The Newbugh Kiwanis Club, The Hub Young Professionals, volunteers from the community, BBBS Board Members, as well as ‘Bigs’ and ‘Littles’ past and present. Big Brothers Big Sisters would also like to thank Katie Levato and the Newburgh Mall Management for donating the supplies and space used in the event.
