Second Annual “Fore” The Kids Golf Outing Exceeds Fundraising Success of Inaugural Outing
NEWBURGH, NY – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County hosted the second annual “Fore” The Kids Golf Classic at West Point Golf Course on Monday, August 30th, and raised over $31,000, an increase over the outing’s successful first year. All the profits from the event will go directly to the agency and mentoring initiatives in Orange County.
Event co-chairs Wayne Martin and Jeff Babcock credited the success of the event to returning major sponsors such as Goldstein, Karlewicz and Goldstein, CPA’s, LLP, Progress Transit, Bergen Jaguar, and DeFeo’s Marina of Greenwood Lake. They were also grateful for new major sponsors, Walden Savings Bank, Newburgh Nissan, and HSBC. Additionally, 114 golfers gave generously as they partook of the pristine course on a bright and sunny August day.
Other event sponsors who made the day possible were Carbonella Coal Fired Pizza, Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP, Mechtronics Corporation, MHVSHRM, Safari Telecom, Scancarello & Sons, Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, William F. Funeral Home, ClearChannel of the Hudson Valley, and almost one hundred “tee sign” sponsors and raffle prize donors. “When local businesses partner with local non-profits, the whole community benefits, and in this case dozens of children will now have hope for a brighter future, even in a tough economy,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director Nancy Kosloski.
