Nationally, Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. We have been the leader in one-to-one youth service for more than a century, developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people.
Locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lakeshore was founded in 1969 by visionary community leaders including Keith Bovee, Michael Sepeshy, Bob & Georgia Tuxbury, Trudy Kramer, Joan Workman, Jane Racey and Gerrett Hasper. Today, the agency serves hundreds of children annually throughout Muskegon, Ottawa, Oceana and Mason Counties.
