Position: Director of Community Development and Recruiting
Location: Sheboygan, Wisconsin Area
This position serves as the chief strategist and supervisor of volunteer engagement, volunteer recruitment and youth outreach efforts. Partners with Executive Director to establish strategic direction for the volunteer engagement plan and recruitment strategy and implementation to ensure achievement of annual goals.
This position develops and maintains procedures to ensure smooth, efficient, timely and positive transitions between recruitment and enrollment. He/she is responsible for the engagement and retention of volunteers through match ‘community building’ initiatives including coordinated match activities, consistent outreach, recognition and activation as brand ambassadors. Additionally, he/she cultivates, stewards, recruits and supports our mentor-rich and youth-rich organizations and institutions that can provide sustained volunteer and youth participation. They work within a customer-focused, goal-driven department and help drive the vision, strategies and tactics for increasing consideration by volunteers, families and external partners; actively manages the inquiry pipeline; and deepens and expands external relationships to enhance the agency’s ability to achieve its mission.
Education Level: Relevant Bachelor’s Degree; Masters preferred. Extensive and verified experience may be substituted.
Years of Related Work Experience: Must have at least 3-5 years of comprehensive experience in recruiting, nonprofit and/or grassroots campaign experience with 5+ years of progressive management responsibilities preferably in a leadership role. Experience in nonprofits and fund development desired
The candidate selected for this position must successfully pass a background check and be able to work evenings and possible weekend hours. Candidate will also be willing to drive own car to offsite assignments that are within Sheboygan County.
