Native American Mentoring
We recognize how important it is for Native American children to have positive role models in their lives—volunteers that understand their circumstances and can help guide them toward a more positive future. It’s so critical, in fact, that we’ve created the Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Native American Mentoring Initiative.
The initiative is designed to raise awareness of Big Brothers Big Sisters' programs among families in Native American communites and to recruit caring adults to step up as Bigs. The program is run under the guidance of American Indian/Alaska Native Advisors and elders, American Indian/Alaska Native BBBS Board members, and community organizations to help ensure our programmatic approaches are culturally relevant, strategic, and sustainable for the future.
Become a Native American Advisor or Board member, or help create a partnership with a Native American tribe, organization or business. Contact your local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency.
