Reporting to a 34-member (up to 39 member) Board of Directors, the President & CEO will be involved in nearly every aspect of the organization, playing an instrumental part in its ongoing success. However, primary focus areas for the role are 1) fundraising and donor relations, and 2) building organizational capacity through strategic planning, staff and board development, operational oversight, and program management. In addition to building a strong internal culture, the President & CEO will be highly visible in the community, serving as the chief spokesperson and advocate for the organization’s mission and goals. The role requires a skilled public speaker and storyteller who can passionately and authentically communicate the critical need for and impact of our work.

Mentoring Specialist – [Los Angeles, CA]

The Mentoring Specialist (MS) is responsible for interviewing, assessing, matching and supporting the volunteers and children that are matched in the one-to-one mentoring program. The MS will ensure child safety, promote positive impacts for youth, foster constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers, and cultivate a strong sense of affiliation with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles on the part of the volunteers.

Grants Manager – [Los Angeles, CA]

BA or BS degree in 7 years progressive foundation and corporate fund-raising experience for a non-profit Expert knowledge of trends, techniques and practices in corporate and or foundation fundraising with a demonstrated track record of managing relationships and successfully closing gifts and grants of $100,000+ The ability to articulate and structure innovative proposals and partnership is essential for success Must be able to demonstrate past hand-on experience and success in mission-based fundraising Understanding of donor cultivation and stewardship, and how to develop long-term strategies for key corporate, individual and foundation donors that maximizes their giving potential Some experience with solicitation of Corporate Sponsorships, designing sponsorship packages and recruiting senior-level community leaders to engage in agency events Ability to function well independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous tasks Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience working with donor database management Able to work occasional events and weekends for special events and travel Ability to work effectively with diverse populations (economic, social, and cultural)
