Big Brothers Big Sisters Advocates for Youth on Capitol Hill

Big Brothers Big Sisters Advocates for Youth on Capitol Hill

More than 140 Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) agency leaders and youth advocates gathered in Washington, D.C. to elevate mentorship as a national priority. Across two impactful days, Big Brothers Big Sisters’ leaders met directly with approximately 200 federal lawmakers to advance support for mentoring, workforce development, and youth mental health policies.

Their voices brought urgency and authenticity to the need and real-world impact of mentorship.

Big Brothers Big Sisters honored Senator Cory Booker’s (D-NJ) and Senator Markwayne Mullin’s (R-OK) championship of the mission at the Legislative Reception.

This, Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 3rd annual Capitol Hill Day reinforced its commitment to advocating for every young person’s ability to have access to strong mentoring relationships.  The momentum from this event will carry into the year ahead, with continued advocacy focused on advancing policies that expand opportunity for youth nationwide.
