Responsible for leading statewide fund development efforts through the acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship of individual donors. Works with the event coordinator to develop and manage local fundraising events. Acts as the primary staff contact for the local leadership council and works to develop and steward those relationships. Implements the fund development process within the parameters of the Statewide Fund Development Plan and in coordination with the Fund Development Team. Develops and implements statewide development plans.
The Director of Special Events is responsible for developing and managing major fundraising events for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. Current annual events include Bowl for Kids’ Sake, Bigs Swing Fore Littles Golf Tournament and the Legacy Awards Gala. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing cost-effective events, setting revenue goals, forming relationships with and soliciting event sponsors and donors, supervising the Special Events Coordinator, and managing sponsors, contractors, vendors, employees and volunteers.
