Arlen “GRIFF” Griffin is a California native, comedian, on-air personality, writer, actor, motivational speaker, philanthropist, voice-over artist, author, and proud U.S. Army veteran. GRIFF has built a powerful reputation as one of the most dynamic and influential comedians and media personalities in the United States and abroad.
In 2013, GRIFF made history as the first American comedian to tape Comedy Central Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa. His global impact is undeniable. He has traveled internationally for performances and television projects and has visited South Africa more than 37 times over the past 15 years.
An accomplished author, GRIFF released his first book, Cats & Puppies, to international acclaim. As of April 1, 2026, the audiobook edition of Cats & Puppies, written and narrated by Arlen “GRIFF” Griffin, was officially released. The audiobook was produced by Teddy P and executive produced by Roz Thompson / Simply Roz Music. He is also the founder of The Process Success Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping young people confront emotional fears while building courage, purpose, and inspiration. In 2023, he expanded the foundation’s reach by launching The Process Success Foundation South Africa.
GRIFF’s award-winning radio career has cemented him as a major voice in inspirational and urban media. A two-time Stellar Award winner and Marconi Award-winning personality, he has co-hosted on notable stations throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. Every weekday morning, listeners across the nation recognize his unforgettable raspy baritone voice on Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell, the #1 inspirational morning show in the United States, airing on Reach Media/Radio One. In May 2024, the show celebrated eight years on the air.
In recognition of his contributions to gospel and inspirational media, GRIFF was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2025. Continuing his legacy of service and impact, he is preparing for induction into the Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame in 2026.
GRIFF is also the co-founder and producer of the hit podcast I Hate the Homies, one of the highest-ranked podcasts on Apple and currently the #1 African American sports podcast, as well as a Top 10 sports podcast nationwide. In July 2023, he and award-winning producer and gospel singer J. Ross launched The Foreign Exchange Show, airing nationally across South Africa every Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
Currently, GRIFF is partnered with Simply Roz Music to create CONSEQUENCES, a nationwide talent competition designed to discover, develop, and elevate winning artists, culminating in an opportunity to take their gifts to Africa and share their talent on a global stage.
