Brothers Big Sisters and Macy’s celebrate First Collaboration for Back-to-School Season

September 24, 2026 – This back-to-school season, Macy’s joined forces with Big Brothers Big Sisters to help young people get the support they need to thrive during the 2026-2027 school year and beyond.

From July 14 – August 31, 2026, Macy’s customers and employees collectively raised nearly $1.2 million in support of mentorship by rounding up their purchase in-store or donating online. Funds raised during the campaign will help create connections that help kids feel supported throughout the school year and beyond.

During the campaign, Big Brothers Big Sisters partnered with Dhar Mann, one of the world’s most influential storytellers and founder of Dhar Mann Studios, to encourage his followers to become Bigs by showcasing the power of mentorship – and surprising Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Littles with Macy’s shopping experiences.

Local Macy’s stores and colleague resource groups across the country invited Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies to participate in store rallies, shopping experiences, donations of backpacks and school supplies and meaningful opportunities engagement opportunities with Bigs and Littles.

This first-of-its-kind initiative is the latest chapter in Macy’s ongoing support for the BBBSA mission. Since 2022, Macy’s has now raised more than $18.4 million for Big Brothers Big Sisters to support more than 400,000 mentoring moments.
